We are really enjoying the extended weekend. Every morning Avery asks if he is going to school today and when we say no, not today, he tells us "ya, we're done at that school right?" If only...

Avery has occupied himself all day with the his Imaginetex Firehouse... you never know what toy will be the favorite. Last night it was Jelly Beans. Who knew he even liked them??

Last night, as I lay on the couch trying to contain the pounding inside my skull, my son decided to show me his cool new boxer briefs given to him by Grandma and Grandpa S. (They are quite nifty with the Disney CARS print!) I started to laugh and well, that sparked some excitement in Avery and off he went to dress up for me and make me laugh some more. Ahh, it is all about the simple things in life. I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time! A picture is worth a thousand words so see for yourself...too bad you couldn't see the dancing that went along with these pics! (And yes, that is underwear over his head under the Frankenstein mask and hat!)
During all of this Ella was so chill, taking it all in! She did give herself a nice mohawk the night before by falling asleep on her side right after I gave her a bath. I hope that she gets all these bad hair days out of her system before she gets older, poor girl!
By coincidence, the hubby and I have realized that we take 1 picture together a year. "No more, no less..." (if you watch Oswald on Noggin, you might have laughed at the quote.) Anyways, here is 2008 going down in history for us!
Last night we celebrated an early Christmas with my parents and sister. It was so fun to see Avery get into the holiday spirit and not only open all his gifts on his own, but his sister's too! Ella was all smiles with her new singing sea horse and Avery is in love with his go-fast fire engine and remote control race car. Here are a few pics from the festivities!
This morning we all ventured to the "castle" at the entrance to our neighborhood for some family photos. It was a lot of fun and so worth the stress! Here's a preview of what's to come...
Later that evening, we took in the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio. This is my sis and I waiting for the river boat!
Baby girl is getting noisy (and we love it!) We discovered how to make her laugh by cradling her in our arms and swinging her back and forth really fast. Every day we see more cooing and more drooling... it's awesome!
