Happy 4th of July

Ah, there's nothing better than a 3 day weekend. Thanks to Grammie, Wade and I were able to have some adult time together on Friday and floated down the Guadalupe River with Jeremy and Jenny. For those of you who are unfamiliar with South Texas, the thing to do is rent a tube and lay back and relax, letting the river take you on a peaceful trip downstream under the Texas sun. (Don't forget the extra tube to carry the beer cooler!!) I am not bragging by any means, but somehow Wade and I managed to make an 18 pack disappear in 4 hours... umm? We made it home in time to read Avery his bedtime stories but this is what the aftermath looks like... On the 4th we took in a San Antonio Missions baseball game, followed by a concert by Robert Earl Keen and a fireworks display. It was Avery's 1st time to see "big" fireworks and Ella too! He loved the booms they made, calling them cannons being fired and Ella just gave her token toothless smile hidden by her paci and pointed her little finger at the bright lights. Another day and another reminder of how much we love being back in Texas, raising our family. Miss you all!

And then...

The day Brian and Wendy hit the road to continue on to New Orleans, Grandpa Bob and Kacie flew in from Naples to visit for a few days. Their stay included lots of fun at the pool and in the backyard in the bounce house. Mom was at work during their stay so we don't have many pics to share. Shortly after they left, Wade packed up the kiddos and headed to Austin for the weekend. Again, I had to work on Saturday so it was fun for the kiddos and a little down time for mom in the evenings. Avery and daddy took in a Round Rock Express baseball game on Sunday night vs the Iowa Cubs. Avery is so excited about baseball and wants to be a catcher for the moment...

Father's Day Weekend

We have had non-stop action at the Larson household the past few weeks but also, lots of fun. Father's Day weekend our friends from Las Vegas were in town so we loaded up everyone and headed to Schliterbahn, one of the biggest water parks in the nation. Unfortunately we only saw 1/16th of this place but the kiddos had a blast. Who needs to explore when you have a kiddie pool with 3 slides! Avery was a fish, and loved being able to go from one slide to another all by himself. On the drive home he said to us, "You know what my favorite part about today was? Being with my family..." Are you kidding me, where did this kid come from! I also have to mention the slight crush he had on Arlethe, Brian and Wendy's 13 year old daughter... He wouldn't leave her alone while they stayed with us and even made her blush when he told her he loved her. Yikes! Cindy, Arlethe and baby Alex (7 months)

A Texas Wedding

Last night we celebrated Carlo and Shannon's wedding in Georgetown. In true Texas fashion, it was the most picture perfect wedding as they said their vows underneath the oak trees with a warm summer breeze in the air. Cheers to the new husband and wife and also to good friends!! It was great to see everyone again and can't wait to do it all again in September for Joe and Kim's nuptials! The Happy Couple Justin and Keri Rasberry Kim and Joe - the next to tie the knot Mother and Daughter... how precious Kristin, Rick and 6 week old Charlie - the best newborn EVER! Who's this couple??? John, Rob Roy and Trey (this is normal....) Kim and Brad (bump not shown - it's a girl!) Ryan, Heather and Brady "Bean" Kelley and Carl Beast and Crystal; ain't they sweet Max and Cindy And now it's time to get silly..... Oh, no!

Playtime Getting Interesting

The kiddos are really starting to enjoy each others company these days, now that Ella can "play' with Avery. Just check out some of these laughs... Ella thinks Avery is the best thing ever. (And he eats up the attention. Hmm, where does he get that from Aunt Stephers??)
