Two Week Whirlwind - We Made It!!

It's been quite the exhausting 2 weeks but we made it through and were able to take time to enjoy some good laughs and fun with the kiddos. It's amazing how some days all you want to do is get away for awhile and then when you finally do, all you can think about is getting back home. After finishing the recruiting trip at Texas A&M on Friday, all I could think about was surprising the kids by picking them up from school and taking them for ice cream! Arriving at Avery's school first, I gave him a choice A)Just mom and Avery go for ice cream or B)to pick up Ella and then go. To my amazement he said "Ella deserves ice cream too so let's get her." Once again grampa, he's a midget... a grown man in a little boys body! They were so good for daddy while mom was gone, they deserved every last lick! Avery also worked extra hard at KIN (his after school program)this week and was given a special Achievement Award. We had lots to celebrate this week! Mom and Ella did some girl bonding on Saturday - she helped mommy look for some new shoes and then we picked out Valentine's for school at Target. The hologram Hello Kitty ones were her choice while Avery wanted Transformers because his friend Peyton likes them. Autumn got a special one - looks like they have gone from rivals to good friends. On Sunday, Avery helped daddy clean my car inside and out for an early birthday surprise - little things like this that make my day! Valentine's Day - we were armed with our goodie bags for friends and extras for the class parties. Ella was sent home that afternoon however with pink eye so back to the doctor for that and a sinus infection! Of course, she did great with the eye drops and medicine, saying each time "doctor make Ella better." She even coughs as hard as she can before taking the medicine like I really need it and then wow, I am better right after taking it. I see a drama queen in the making. Thankfully after Wade staying home with her on Tues she is better and back to school. While Wade was home on Tuesday, mom was headed to Baltimore for 2 days. A quick trip, back in time on Wednesday night to tuck both kids in and read bedtime stories, my favorite thing to do. We all loved our Valentine's presents and cards - thank you very much! Here's Ella with one of her new books from Grandma Trish - she really enjoyed this one. Bathed and ready for another week ahead!
