New Spurs Fans?

Wade and I had a fabulous date night last night after scoring tickets to the SA Spurs vs Orlando Magic game. Not just any tickets either, 4 rows off the court! It's hard to not get into the game when you could practically reach out and touch the players. I think I am a new Spurs fan! There was no Eva Longoria sighting thanks to the Golden Globes last night but we did see Tim Duncan's wife and 2 young children, Tony Parker's mom and a hall of fame Spur (his name is slipping my mind right now) and his kiddos. Thanks Grammie Larson for watching the kiddos so we could have some adult time!!

HOORAY for weekends!

Saturday night we had a lot of fun just hanging at the house with the kiddos. Avery has taking a liking to techno/dance music so we found the 24-7 music channel on cable and let him have at it! Here's a few pics of him in flight as he jumped up and down and all over the couch to the beat. Ella gave the activity bouncer a trial run. She seemed to really like it and couldn't take her eyes off of it as daddy was putting it together! Avery made sure to show her how everything worked and wanted to sit right by her while she played. It doesn't get much better than that!

Getting Back Into It

Now that the holidays have come and gone, it's back to life as normal. Well, for the most part at least. Wade and I made a commitment to work out at the new gym up the road when construction completed in December. It opened on 12/15 and since then Wade has been doing good himself and motivating me in the process. It's been an adjustment to our schedules but we are making it work and hope to find the best fit for us! I have a feeling that Avery will be a good motivator as well. On Sunday, daddy's day off from the gym, Avery was begging to go and I was soooo close to grabbing by gym bag but he changed his mind! Whew! LOL! The kids club they have is pretty cool and it gives him an opportunity to burn off some of his extra energy before we get home- always a plus! So stay tuned. Also, a big thanks to Great Grandma Van for the John Deere Tractor. Avery said he liked it "this much!" He has so many cool new toys, he wants to stay home and play with them rather than go to school. Can't blame him!! Wouldn't we all rather stay home and play?!

Calling All Parents

I must admit, I am NOT a fan of video games. (Ask Wade, we were married for 3 years before I let him bring a video game console into the house and even then I scowled everytime he got it out! I only said yes b/c I felt bad not talking to him in the evenings while I was pregnant with Avery. I was to busy burying my head in every baby know-how-to book I could find, and trying to figure out what was going to happen next to my ever expanding body!) But back to the subject at hand, I LOVE the Fisher-Price Cool School Computer! It was a Christmas present to Avery and although our playtime on it has been less than 2 hours, he has learned to do some amazing things with it. I came home from work on Wednesday and Wade told me to watch Avery spell his name. Even though he can't write his name yet, he was able to reconize the letters in his name and type it out on the computer! WOW, it was an amazing moment and he was soooo proud of himself. I never thought about kids being able to type before they could write but it makes sense. The software also has an art feature where you can pic your media and create whatever you want. Avery made a very cool snowman that day and I just wish I was able to hook up a printer somehow to print it out. Are you listening Fisher-Price?! So if you can, check this out for your kiddo. It's great. I'll upload a picture of him playing on it later.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We hope 2009 brings lots of happiness and health to you and yours! Our family is looking forward to lots of fun in 2009 including Ella's 1st birthday, Avery's 4th birthday, the start of preschool in the Fall, the wedding of our friends Joe and Kim, the birth of many babies and some in the making :), my dad's 60th birthday, Christmas in FL and our 1st family trip to the land of The Mouse, just to name a few. Can't wait for all the birthday parties and weekend trips to visit friends and family! Cheers!
