Nothing like a swim party at Mark and Crystal's house.
Avery had a great time with Mitchell and Brady "Bean" in the pool and on the trampoline. (Why people have these things is beyond me...) As soon as the parents turn away, collision of heads and stubbed toes, like clockwork!
Overall it was a great day in the sun with friends. See you all again in 2 weeks at Carlo and Shannon's wedding.
Ah, it's the weekend and a 3 day weekend at that! Avery already understands what Friday's mean- no school for 2 days! But he did tell Wade the other day he is ready for kindergarten and wants to go to a big school. That will happen soon enough. To Avery's disappointment soccer was cancelled AGAIN today bc of rain. It's the season that never ends! He was ready to play after his last game, where he scored his 1st, 2nd and 3rd goals of the season! It was such a turning point for him and we were so proud. The coachs caught on and started calling him "The Hulk" and that is all it took. We were ready to see him in action again as well, to see if it was a fluke thing or if he is finally getting it!
Ella is discovering more each day. We have found the kitty box and hope that the interest fades sooner than later. She is working hard at standing up and even take a few steps when you hold her hands. Hard to believe she will have her 1st birthday in 2 months.
Here's a few pictures from this week. Ella decided to sleep in her bouncer after story time with daddy and Avery took a little too long. And she loves her kitty, Rajah, even if the feeling isn't mutual. Overall he is very accepting of her and gives her space but we still have to keep an eye on him.
It's official- Ella is crawling as of Monday! She's found a favorite spot, right in front of the refrigerator. Thank goodness she hasn't discovered the rest of the house including the stairs just yet. But give her time... it will happen.
We've been partying this weekend while daddy is away at a bachelor party in Austin. Carlo and Shannon's big day is 2 weeks away- June 6th! We can't wait!
It's so funny to see Ella kneeling in her crib now when you expect to find her lying down. She loves seeing the world from this new point of view.
Ella tried pancakes for the 1st time last night and as you can see, she's not a fan! Look at that face!
It may look like crying but they are tears of joy (excuse the booger hanging from her nose...)
Avery has officially learned to snap his fingers and Ella is beginning to crawl and pull herself up. She is still slow but no complaints here. That just means we don't have to run after 2 kids yet. That will happen soon enough.

Ella braved the heat on Saturday to cheer her brother on at his soccer game. Meet Cameron, Hannah's brother, and another potential match in the making. He is quite protective and sweet with her. He was wiping her down with a wet cloth but nothing seemed to help with her rosy cheeks!
